A very interesting coin for 1657...

How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Eighth-Edition!-We-Need---1366-C.-E.-A.-H.-767-Help-US-John-Conduit! How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Eighth-Edition!-We-Need---1366-C.-E.-A.-H.-767-Help-US-John-Conduit!

City of Elbing (Elbl#261;g)
Swedish occupation (1626-57)
Carl X Gustav (r. 1654-60 in Sweden)
billon solidus, 1657

Obverse: CAROL GVST D G R, monogram of Carl Gustav in central circle
Reverse: SOLIDVS PRVSSIAE 57, arms of Elbing in central circle

Kopicki 9655 (R7 = 4-6 examples known?)
Numista 96629 (combined with Kopicki 9654)
KM# 65 (listed as "rare" in the catalog; NGC images are of Kopicki 9654 = KM# 66)

An incredibly rare coin! It looks like Kopicki's estimate might be a bit too strong on the rarity, but it's still not exactly a common type.
(And it might be less common than Kopicki 9654, the SOLIDVS ELBING variant.)

CoinGallery, in their entry for Elbing, give an example of the ELBING type and incredulously say [in my translation from German] "Vossberg knew an example with the city arms and the legend SOLIDVS PRVSSIÆ 57 (!)."
But here's the coin - and the Numista entry depicts a few other examples (from Polish auctions).

I was really lucky to find it offered for $7, pretty much by accident (I was surprised at the combination of a Swedish king name and "Prussia", and decided that I definitely wanted the coin, even though the price was a little higher than I'd have paid for a normal 17th century Polish/Prussian solidus).
But I've compared it to the other examples I could find online, and I'm pretty sure it's real. My photos suck, though. If I ever get back to Moscow, this coin is one of my top targets for new pics.

Very cool!
I think on one of the earlier HFBCWG threads we checked out your coin and decided nothing looks amiss.
As for the rarity, I can find 5 examples that have come to market in the last 10 years, which meets my definition of pretty rare, but maybe the Kopicki R7 is a notch too high.

APOLOGIES TO JBUCK FOR THIS DIVERSION...

For reference (and cause, as you know, I collect this area pretty heavily, so I was curious ), here they are:
Example 1. Sold most recently at WCN on 11/14/2020 for about $260 (960 PLN). Same coin sold a year earlier in a Niemczyk Auction 22 for $240 (890 PLN) and in 2012 at WCN for 2090 PLN.

Example 2. Sold at Niemczyk Auction 20 on 6/15/2019 for about $270 (1000 PLM) and to my eye maybe the best example

Example 3. Sold at Myntkomaniet Auction 20 on May 8, 2021 for 247 euro:

Example 4. Sold at Myntkompaniet Auction 18 on May 2, 2020 for 244 euro
How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Eighth-Edition!-We-Need---1366-C.-E.-A.-H.-767-Help-US-John-Conduit!
Copyright Myntkompaniet/AB Philea

Example 5. Sold October 8, 2017 at WCN for about $160.

Nice to know that, should you decide to sell, you've got a coin that will give you something like a 3,000 % return.
