They both are good buys in my opinion, if problem free. Especially 1878.

Thanks again ark. I agree that the 78-S looks higher grade by a substantial amount. The seller pictures of the 78-S is out of focus and the surfaces of both coins are a little difficult to assess via the photos. In spite of that, there seemed to be enough that I could see to take a chance. At the very least, they appear to have sidestepped the cleaning that was prevalent and acceptable in the past.

same seller?

coin surfaces do not look original. the top half of the obv looks way different than the bottom. cleaned? possibly. a little rim damage rev at K5-6 area. again nothing I buy unless it had a return privilege
