Back again with a different example. . .different views provided below. Would you consider this a worthwhile grading example ? Asking because I'm slowly aggregating coins to submit to ANACS under its 2024 "show special" discount. Might add this one to the submission. Thanks again for your advice & assistance. Have a great day.

From the images, the coin appears to be a circulated example with noticeable wear.

I'm not sure there is value in paying for it to be graded - it's a common coin.

Agree, doesn't look like it's worth grading.

Agreed - the photos appear to show a circulated coin.

At best AU - and IMO not worth the cost of TPG grading unless your collecting goal includes such examples.

No - nowhere close to getting your grading fees back with that one.

I appreciate the advice very much. So when I put it away with the rest of my commemoratives, what grade should I put on it ?

Dearborn, my intent is to accurately describe (and document ) the relative value of the coinage in my collection. I have a ton of stuff one can look up in a RedBook or find "recently sold" values on the ebay. The items I have set aside for grading will expedite their dispersal when I'm six feet under. I have no illusions that what I've inherited from my Dad and what I've collected in my lifetime is going to be passed down to my grandkids. My sole heir has no interest in my stuff ( my vinyl collection excepted ) and when the time comes, she'll liquidate it. Making that task easier is the primary reason I'll be getting things graded.

Commems said 'circulated' and I refined that a bit to 'AU'.

That's what grade you can use.

An admirable goal. Suggest you temper that with the reality that some coins (such as this Stone Mountain) are worth less than the grading fees.

Best to place it in a labeled 2x2 with the grade AU written on it.
