What do you grade this? Sadly I can't remove it from holder since its part of a lot that I will return so don't want to tamper. But I thought why not post it here first Im at ms62/63 but it has a strange/suspicious area on the chin visible in 3rd pic. Thankful for your input Edited by Moniker 08/21/2024 11:41 am

I think it's a solid MS-63.

Looks 63 to me.
Staples aren't a problem unless you don't remove them before trying to take the coins out, or store your coins in the old school Whitman-style 2x2 boxes where the staples can contact other coins. I keep all of my 2x2's in albums to avoid that issue, for the ones that aren't in Kraft envelopes at least.
Another thing you can do is use a small sharp object to carefully puncture the plastic area of the flip away from the coin and slip the coin out that way.

Whats the story of returning it?

Too many chatter marks for a 64 - MS63 seems right.

Quote: Whats the story of returning it? Its in a lot of 17 coins mostly commems, the thing I took a chance one was a Peace dollar that might have been a 28 but turned out to be a 23 (as I feared). Since there is a return policy I must return the whole lot to get my money back. I don't see enough value in the rest of the coins to justify keeping it

81(S) are so common in mid-high MS condition unless I got a really good deal on this I'm sending it back. thats just me.
the reverse is pretty nice and would grade MS64 the obv is hard to call only because you have a couple shots and they all look different so I'm not sure which one is the in-hand look. the first obv photo is showing quite a bit of small chatter in the left field and across the profile. the lighting in the 3rd photo may be hiding that. I think the obv is closer to MS62 especially if the luster is broken. i'd net it to MS63 though but I would not pay 63 $$ for it with so many nicer examples out there

Tx Pz, well its a frosty one. But I don't like the rubb on the chin and its chatty. As you say these are common. I'm a bit lazy so it sucks to have to send back stuff
