I thought that these were only minted in the years 2000-2008. I asked for a few rolls of dollar coins at my local bank .When I opened them, they were all unirculated Sacagawea dollars. I didn't see any dates. Then, duh, I decided to look on the edge and voila! However, some of the dates were years later than the 2008 "final year". They are beautiful, strong strikes with brilliant fields and have several different detailed designs. I even researched some "expert" articles and all said they stopped after 2008. Please clarify for me.

"Sacagawea" dollars were minted from 2000-08, they feature an eagle on the reverse and a smooth edge. "Native American" dollars have been minted since 2009 and feature a Native American theme on the reverse and the date, mint mark and motto on the edge of the coin. Both the "Sacagawea" and "Native American" dollars feature Sacagawea on the obverse and most folks call them Sacagawea dollars.

2008 was the last year for the "Soaring Eagle" reverse. Many different reverses continued to be minted up till today.
