My son wanted me to check this coin with all of you.
He has no idea what is wrong, and honestly I thought it was a sharpie mark ( I may sacrifice a coin for this theory)
But I looked and the only thing I could find similar was missing clad.. but it doesn't seem to be it either...

Modern Lincoln Cents aren't made of clad. They're copper plated zinc. Just a stain. PMD.

Good. Something told me it was most likely a stain (sharpie) but my kid is stubborn. Still. You saved me from drawing on a coin!

Coin appears to have been taped on either side of the oxidized darker strip.
