Detail looks to be EF-40, but the scratches on the obverse might drop it a little. I would still grade it EF-40.

I think it grades EF-45 or even AU-50 in terms of detail, but this coin has probably been cleaned or "recolored" to simulate mint luster. The scratches are pretty deep and distracting. The coin has strong detail and will serve for your type set, but if I were filling that hole I would prefer an undamaged example. You should be able to find a nice Braided Hair Half Cent with original surfaces at a reasonable price. You might consider certified examples which could always be broken out to place in an album. Certification will help ensure you get a coin that has not been "messed with".

Nice looking EF-40 to me. Maybe too nice looking. Something may have been done to enhance it's eye appeal.
