So, I was scrolling ebay and checking what a few of my favorite dealers have up for auction when I stumbled upon this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156362123056 Wow! According to the Grey sheets, this is a $20 coin in AU50 which is the range I set for collecting this series, and the date I have, that I paid $25 for not two months back. While NGC or PCGS would most likely assign it a low MS grade, to me it looks more of an AU58 as far as strike detail. Which I understand weak strikes are common, this is simply my opinion. Anyhow, The current bid is at $177. Clearly way over a straight grade simply due to the tone. Far more baffling is that there are 12 bidders By comparison, I have the somewhat tougher with cents in a near identical grade which set me back $131. I suppose I'll not understand why some are willing to pay such astronomical prices for color. What are your thoughts? It sure is a nice looking specimen though.

I know this sounds flip... Buyers behave like buyers--some are shrewd, some are compulsive/reactive. When Morgans have attractive toning (and when they are in quite decent condition), some buyers will go all out to acquire 'em.

Ah, Canyon City Coins rebranded? The photos are unmistakable...

People have raised issues with them on here and other forums in the past, makes you wonder about this Denver Coin Co rebrand...

Regardless, still seems like ebay bidders go absolutely crazy for them.

You pick the one seller that receives moon bids on every lot. Time to erase this seller from your favorite dealers list!! They crack lower grade and problem coins to sell as fresh and original on their ebay.

This seller is a fraud. As stated before, seller cracks out lower MS grades and UNC Details coins, then sells them raw and describes it as "fresh collection". He bought a bunch of questionable color Indian cents from Rick Snow last year (maybe two years ago) and staged a photo to look like they came out of a fresh roll. Very deceptive as there was no mention that all of them were once graded as UNC details.
