Hello folks

I have this coin I am not able to identify.

It is 19 mm and 1 gr.

My first guess was Basel but although the cross is similar the shield is different.

Any information would be appreciated.

Pretty cool coin @mais. If that color is correct, then someone may have used bleach on this 15th Century silver coin. Below is a link to a similar coin from Breisach, Germany but I don't see a Vierer listed yet on numista. It is a little hard to see the contents of the shield in your photo, but it should be six mountains all glommed together.

Thanks Spence

Breisach was one of my options due to the cross, but I rulled it out because of the coin's collor. I thought it was maed of cooper.

But tossing it on the table it really sounds like silver.

In the end your are right, something funny has happened to this coin get this collor. Thanks a lot for the help.

@spence, great ID!

Probably there is some history connecting this place to the City of Strasbourg (which is not far away), and which used the GLORIA in their coin legends, too.

@maismoedas, here is a link with a bit more info on your coin (catalog reference, date, etc). https://www.ma-shops.com/koelnermue...php?id=19494
I will see about getting a listing in Numista.
