I've been given a dozen of these aluminium silver-dollar-size tokens. Some are silver in color, some have been gilded or bronzed and one or two are red and blue! I assume they are tourist souvenirs of some kind associated with the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but I'd appreciate any further infornation, please! Thanks!

@numis, here is a link to a 2014 post on this subject which seems pretty comprehensive to me:

NumisRob, I have hundreds of these Mardi Gras doubloons - got my first one from a parade in New Orleans back around 1970 or so. The aluminum ones have mostly been replaced by plastic ones that are not very interesting.
For the most part they are not very valuable (most of mine are in zip-lock baggies somewhere around here).
Here's a nice article on their history:

Thanks Hondo and many thanks for the link! In a way I'm grateful - if they had been of any value, I'd have needed to buy one of my friends a lot of beers!

You could still buy him a beer, NumisRob! I spent a month in the UK and Ireland 25 years ago and have very fond memories of the fine ales there. I would love to do that again but no longer consume alcohol.
Here are some that I posted back in June for some reason. The first is silver and was not a parade throw!
