Well it is not a Retained Cud - as Cuds will always involve the rim and edge.
What you have here is a very nice RIDB otherwise known as a Retained Interior Die Break

Not the best comparison photos, sizes off, but good enough to see, left OP's coin, right, Cuds on coins RCD-1c-1952-05...
