It could've still happened at the mint just not during the minting, or are you thinking out in circulation? I see a bunch of ways people are describing this. Is it worth grading?

I would put this coin in the "Skid Mark" category

Post-strike damage. Imagine the coin being dragged across the concrete floor of a big box store--perhaps trapped for a time between a pallet and the floor. Years ago I was at a Costco when some pallets were being moved. A worker right next to me bent down and picked up a cent which looked nearly identical to this one. If you like it, keep it as a fun curiosity.

This didn't happen at the mint. It's just damage. Not worth grading, as it's not an error. Worth face value.
Errers and Varietys.

Quote: There is only one right way to describe this. It's 100% damage. I should've been more clear, I was referring to the acronym PMD, I just saw comments elsewhere describing how a coin can be damaged after the minting process, but still at the mint and wondered if it was possible with this Lincoln Cent. Based on the feedback here it was not, and that's okay. I am new to coin roll hunting and just trying to learn.
