Bowls And Spoons Made From Single Coins

syarnie New Member United States 44 Posts	Posted 09/17/2024 5:02 pm I recently picked up this small bowl made from a 1916 Peruvian Sol that has three little vicuña for legs. Would love to see other cool spoons or bowls made from single coins that anyone has in their collection. Amazing to me that they were able to keep the reeded edge like that with little distortion to the reverse of the coin. Liberty on the bottom of the bowl got a little out of whack through the process. Anyone happen to know what machine or technique was used to do this to a coin? Report this Post to the Staff

Almost all of the obverse damage seems to have been done by the jeweller attaching the llamas, rather than the bowlification process (whatever that was). They've scuffed up the patches where the solder was being attached, and done a bit more scuffing than was technically necessary.
