Sap Moderator Australia 16810 Posts	Posted 09/22/2024 05:29 am Assuming it's "about the size of a modern cent", then I'd assume it's actually a British farthing of King George I. The next question would be authenticity - as one possible explanation for its crude appearance is that it's a contemporary counterfeit. I'm mainly raising the possiblity because a normal off-centre strike shouldn't have a raised lip like that, but a cast copy might. Mxw New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 09/22/2024 11:30 am The markings have enough to see it's a King George 1st half penny. it's not completely round, it's about 1.02 inches in diameter. My scale is not completely accurate it's probably a fraction over 8 grams. Report this Post to the Staff
