Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I have a question regarding a gold colored 1999-P Susan B Anthony that I got from my mother years ago. I almost threw it away several times thinking it was fake. But I hesitated, and now I am asking... is it real? I weighed it, and the best I can figure, it weighs the same as other SBA and Sacagawea coins that I have. Sorry for the quality of the photos. I'm still learning. Thank you for your help!

It's a gold plated SBA. Probably done as some promotional thing. No added value.

Almost certainly gold plated. Pics of the obverse and reverse would help to confirm that theory. Plating was common for those magazine sales gimmicks and late night commercials and infomercials.

Does the gold plating devalue the coin?

Gold plated. Interesting find. Keep for fun, but no added value.
