Found this in a lot of coins at the shop. I want to call this a Rim Cud , but I would like some more opinions on it. The area of this Cud near the bow has a nice edge line, like the broken die would make. The area at the other side of the Cud is much smother into the fields and letters, making me wonder. Could be the crack wore down there ? The coin is not bent or damaged opposite the Cud (on the obverse)

Thanks for Looking

Looks like a Cud to me. Well circulated and obviously wore the Cud down further. Good find!

Thanks for the input, My first thought was a Cud. The way it seems to fade right into the field on one side made me think twice, no better place to get info than here !

That coin is pretty cool, but the pics actually make it look pretty good. It has been harshly cleaned and is much shinier than thees pics indicate- and covered with hairlines, lots of them ! Just not appealing enough for me...

Pocket piece.

That'll cure what ails it, eventually.

Not a rim Cud for sure (rim Cuds are strictly confined to the rim area and do not extend in to touch any of the design beyond the denticals), it is a design Cud or just possibly a Retained Cud that has had the design worn off through wear. I believe I have seen it before but I'm not sure.
