So the theory is that you can put it into your album slot to admire, with the back out of sight?

Oh yeah, Grove Minting made those. I bought one when they first came out a few years ago. You can easily see the difference from a real one......

Not something I would spend $55 on. Kudos to Grove minting for using their own reverse on the token so it can't be passed off as a genuine 55 DD.

I don't care for this stuff either.

I'm in agreement, its basically a copy of the 1955 double die but as a token. Its much more accepted on another unmanned forum.

I'm sure it works for some people, such as someone who likes to have a coin with a story to tell. But I'd rather spend my $55 elsewhere.

Not something I'd be interested in owning. That being said, I do own a 1oz silver replica of an 1804 silver dollar, in an NGC holder no less, that was gifted to me by a dealer I did a lot of business with many years ago (it came with a book on the 1804 dollar). And, a Fugio cent replica in an informational holder that was given to me by a family member. So, I guess I should rephrase my original statement as "not something I'd be interested in BUYING"...

Good point. A gift would have sentimental value, at least to me.
