The famous one is dated 1955, not 1955D. Keep looking.

Not a DDO. The 1955 Philadelphia Wheat cent has the big DDO. http://doubleddie.com/287301.html

The way I learned what doubled die coins look like was: 1. A whole bunch of searching through a giant pile of weathered wheat cents, 2. realizing that I didn't really know what I was looking for, 3. reading the double die formation article on Wexler, 4. comparing Variety Vista, Wexler and PCGS for the CPG FS-10x/80x varieties, 5. renewed searching with acceptable results.

You aren't gonna find a needle in a haystack until you know what a needle looks like.

What would make you wonder if this a DDO cent? The die chips in the date? Any little bit of information helps us to explain it better than just saying "Not a DDO" - helping you to learn better.

In my defense I QUICKLY realized that it was in fact not a DDO error an said nevermind carry on lol

I don't know what, if anything, an error like that is worrh... another thing I'm still horrible at lol thanks so much for your help!
