My avitar is The Australian "Year of the Rooster" Coloured Edition. 2oz pure Silver (99.9%)coin. This one is number 00544 (Certificate of Authenticity). Only 1,000 of these coins were released in Australia out of a worldwide mintage of 28,000. Of course there were coloured 1 oz coins as well.
This coin has what is called a Specimen finish.

"The chinese believe people born in the Year of the Rooster are Honest, hardworking and talented. Never afraid to speak their mind, stylish Roosters are also independent and self Reliant."
(I was born in the year of the rabbit)

"Coloured elements on the coin's reverse depict a rooster with the rising sun and the flower of a camellia, a Chinese native plant. The design also includes the year-date, the chinese character for "rooster", and a boarder of bats and clouds symbolising health, peace and prosperity."

Here is a better picture. I like the softer colours of the flowers and the details on the rooster.

Man! Australia sure does come up with some amazing coin designs. I've always admired the Canadian coins but I've never really seen any Australian before. Very nice.

Anyway... mine is a 1927-D Standing Liberty quarter. In my opinion the biggest sleeper in the series. Third lowest mintage but goes for common prices. I've got a bone to pick with J.H. Cline about that.
