Hi there I have a 19 68D US penny, I have a few questions I love help answering them.
I'm trying to evaluate this coin to put in value on it.
It is definitely extremely circulated and extremely fine but I found a neat error possibly.

1. Why does the D mint mark look like it's crooked with a trail mostly at the bottom?
? Looked up repunishment marks and crooked mint marks but didn't find anything that looked the same as this penny.

2. The L in Liberty looks like it's being overlapped by an | why is this?

3. I like to look at a coin sometimes in black and white or when the covers are reversed to get more of an outline or idea I did this and I seen possible doubling in the g and D in God I thought I would ask since I'm already asking about the mint mark would love an answer..

4.The 1968 D penny I saw that if it's a wide a.m. that's a incorrect mint mark error it definitely looks to me like a wide a m could somebody confirm this and let me know if that indeed is a error?

5. Last but not least The greenish debris around the a.m. and around the rim the patina I was wondering how to get rid of that without damaging a coin because I learn the hard way and tried scratching it off but I scratched a different coin so I heard baking soda and vinegar in water soaking but I'm nervous to try something else I would just like to know I don't have professional coin cleaning solution I'm just a newbie.
Thank you and I hope this many questions is okay new to this community but super grateful Thank you so much.

To CCF! Just seeing a circulated cent with damage ( PMD) and Pareidolia. The Wide AM term only applies to the 1998, 1999, and 2000 Philadelphia Cents. https://www.lincolncentcollection.c...amwideam.php Your coin is worth 1 cent.

Also, only 100 pure acetone and Verdi-Care is safe to use on coins. Don't use baking soda and vinegar to clean coins. That'll detail it and ruin any possible value it has. Although, your coin is only worth face value, so it wouldn't matter in this case. Just never do it to a valuable coin.

to the CCF, Rena!
1. There is a circulation hit on the mint mark.
2. There is a circulation hit on the mint mark.
3. Those black and white images are manipulated and just horrible. I see no doubling on your coin.
4. I'm no error/variety expert, but as far as I know there are no wide/close AM designations for 1968. I may be wrong, however.
5. The only acceptable coin treatments are 100% acetone and Verdi-Care. These may remove much of that verdigris.
6. This is a totally ordinary cent worth 1 cent - don't bother wasting acetone or Verdi-Care on it.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

@Rena Appears to be just a spender, PMD and circulation wear.

Just post pictures of the coin in natural color - not the black and white ones.
Hondo sums it up perfectly!
