I know this is not a DDO but why does the "IN" in IGWT look the way it does. Is it a late stage die or just a specific version of a die?

Master die doubling effects the die at any age. Every coin struck with that die will have it no matter what die state.

Every 1972 that I found CRH have Master die doubling, never found a real DD

Don't give up yet.

The top of the horizontal bar on the 2 shows something towards the rim end that needs to be looked at further. Your lighting is too bright and the angles are not good, but there are a large number of DDO's on Wexler's site that have doubling in that location AND master die doubling on IGWT.

Post some better photos of that part of the 2 and let's see what they show.

I enjoy hunting 1972's for the DDO's. Keep at it. There are plenty of DDO's still out there.
