Please take a look at this 2014-D President Harding Dollar with questionable mark on the obverse. I believe it is raised but I will rely on the experts to analyze. I just got these from the bank today and spotted this one pretty quickly. Thanks.

It isn't clear tape is it? Try a soak in pure acetone.

I'm seeing stains. Also, the obverse might have had tape stuck on it, protecting that surface from circulation and staining.

Agree - looks like a piece of tape was/is stuck to it.

strange looking, please try an over night acetone soak to see if it can be removed, and repost here your results.

This is a good diagnostic move to try first..

Agree with tape on this one, and tape/clear stuff on coins can be confusing some times.

There was no tape on the coin. I cleaned the coin and took new photo posted. The tape theory certainly makes sense. I was just a little confused by the edge nearest the head that I added arrows to point out what looked like a slight ramp up, but that may just be the way the coin stained over time. Also a weird edge for tape, but possible I guess.

Any added comments are appreciated. You all are awesome!!!

Just my experience with tape on coins, having a nice straight edge on one side and ragged on the other is not that unusual.
The tape being gone/removed from the coin, before it got to you, still shows that it was likely there for some time, protecting the
metal beneath it from exposure to the environment, and still lighter in color.
