PCGS - The 1873 Doubled Liberty Indian cent is one of the scarcest varieties in the series. It happened when the working die received two strikes from the master die during production, doubling the "LIBERTY" inscription. Fewer than 1,000 examples are known to exist. Graded PCGS MS63BN, this example is valued at $9,250 according to the PCGS Price Guide. That's the kind of coin that collectors spend their lives searching for.
I like my MS63BN better!! CAC and PhotoSeal. I'm thrilled to be the owner of this coin and truly think the book value described in the first post is way too low!
