I recently was given about 50 Indian Head pennies so I'm researching each one for errors I have four 1859 Indian Head pennies this one is the worst I know it's old and it's got a lot of wear and tear but is it some kind of plating issue on the reverse I was researching it saw something similar I forgot where I found it go figure thanks for the education has always

I'm pretty sure that what you're seeing is due to heavy circulation wear. PMD.

I don't see any plating issue, just a well worn cent.

Looks like heavy wear coupled with corrosion and cleaning. May have been in the ground for a long while.

And the plot thickens thanks everybody I thought it was supposed but isn't there an Indian head out there that had lamentation issues
