This week at the shop one of the guys finally got to a Dansco album with a Franklin half collection in it, and I got first pick... There were some really nice coins in there..wanna see ? The first couple I picked were on eye appeal alone, from five feet away I knew I wanted those coins, no matter the grade.

This coin was glowing like a neon sign... Not the highest MS grade, and the pic really shows the flaws- but it captures the colors well. Nice Bell Lines, but the 49's usually have pretty strong lines. A couple hits across the upper Bell Lines would preclude this one from an FBL designation I think.
All opinions appreciated, even the toner haters

Wow. That is one extremely well-struck Franklin.

I would give it a MS-62,63. I see a lot of dings but beautiful coin

I am in the 62 range on that one too. The toning is awesome though. Reminds me of my 1954 proof set. Apparently my set was broken up and stacked one on top of another. Quarter moon toning on everything.

Lots of contact marks on the obverse. Nice early Franklin, MS-63.

Thanks for your opinions. I figured it for a 63, but the toning sold me anyway ! It does have some nicks and dings, but these pics were for color and the flaws show much more in the light and angles I had to use to get the color to show. It is a very appealing coin IMO

This one definitely has the better toning(and the other was pretty nice as well)
I grade it MS-63 with a couple heavier bag marks in both obv fields and scuffs on the cheek and collar. Too bad for that bagmark on the upper bell lines, that strike is very nice and it would certainly make FBL otherwise.
