Hello,

I have been thinking a lot over the weekend about collecting circulated versus uncirculated coins. I have thought about the recent circulated coins such as the State Quarter Dollars and Presidential dollars. Those shouldn't be too hard. Lincoln cents from the 50's through today may not be too hard and are cheap and available. So all of those examples in circulation are not too frustrating. The frustrating sets are Ike dollars, SBA Dollars and Sacagawea dollars because they weren't minted in all the years of a set but the folders do not reflect that.

I don't like putting uncirculated coins in a folder because they are too nice. I don't like putting circulated coins in an album because if I'm spending up to $30 on an album I want a nice BU coin. So, am I weird? I love giving the few children in my life Lincoln folders already started because rolls of pennies are cheap. I wanted to start an Ike dollar set from circulation (see my previous post) but if I start an IKE/SBA set it will be uncirculated because mixing is just too weird for me....why is that? Any advice or sense knocking words would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

I don't like putting *any* coins in a folder, so I agree with you there. If I don't have a Dansco album for the particular coin and if I want to protect it, that coin goes into a 2x2 in a notebook.

2x2 and a 3 ring binder is the way to go mix em and upgrade em till you have what you want for a dansco
