Wanting to find out how much the following 2 CC are worth if anyone happens to know as I've been unable to find out anything about either of them. Hoping to get some insight here in the group who might know something. TIA

to the CCF

Suggest that you orient the medals so we can see them upright. Also need more light on the darker piece - I can't read the inscriptions.

There doesn't seem to be much of a market for challenge coins. The "value" seems to be in the interaction between a famous/important individual and the recipient.

Assuming of course it's real and not from the gift shop.

US Presidents have long had "challenge coins" (appreciation medals) available to them, but the value seems to be in the letter "Dear Bob, thanks for all the hard work, /s/ David" vs. the medal itself.

And of course, with most unit's coins... while it might be cool to have one from Interpol, generally as soon as you open your mouth it becomes clear you aren't an insider and it becomes uncool.

Thanks @john1 for the Welcome.

@BStrauss3 thank you for that info. I plan on keeping them as I like to collect them when I do come across them. I have only about 30 CC's and I know each holds something of value. These particular 2 I really had no clue of their worth and symbolization.

Todd- More power to you as a collector instead of the constant "how much can I sell this parking lot coin for"!!!

Certainly, the field of challenge coins and similar medals has gotten a lot richer over the past few years. It used to require a fairly hefty minimum quantity to cover the costs of producing the die. Now you can make 1 or 5 or 10 on a mini-mill. Fill with enamel and fire.
