Hello to all. New to the forum here. As I was separating my coins, I came across this (middle nickel in photos) 1965 nickel that just seemed to have a darker look to it. There doesn't appear to be any dirt on it as it looks pretty clean for its age. It definitely has a smoother more polished look to it. But it's the darkish tone that stood out to me. I do apologize for the photo because it really doesn't do justice to how the naked eye can see it. Anyway, just wasn't sure if there was a reason for this off tone look and was wondering if anyone could provide a little insight on that. Thanks in advance for any/all feedback.

To CCF! It could be from toning from environmental exposures. That's my guess. Other members will give you their input eventually, later on.

Thanks for the input!
I have also come across a few quarters with the same color tone and shine. None of them look like they have gone through a lot of circulation. They look very clean. For now, I'll just put them aside until I can learn more about coins and collecting them in general.

Looks like normal toning on your 60 year old coin.
