Hello,
I coin-roll-hunt many dimes and quarters here in Canada, and yesterday I just came across a 1989 dime, with the Queen's portrait sideways. If you look at the schooner in normal position, and then flip the coin sideways like we always do for Canadian coins, the Queen is rotated 90 degrees clockwise! That's weird and the very first time I see that.
Is this an already reported error, or my discovery?
Is that worth a large premium?
I'd like to have an idea of its value, compared to similar errors for other years. It's in the value range of 90, 180, 270 degree rotations, and not just slight rotations we see more often...

Hi Luc, nice find! Can you take a picture of it in front of a mirror so that we can see the rotation? Here's how I did it.

Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I took a picture, but their stupid interface doesn't accept files
over 300KB! After 15 minutes of frustration trying to convert it,
I quit.
I see the mirror image of the reverse, but since it's through a mirror,
it appears rotated 270 degrees instead of 90 degrees.
Use your imagination, and see the schooner with "10 cents" written on the bottom, flip it sideways, and instead of seeing the Queen's portrait right side up, it has turned 90 degrees clockwise, so she's laying down on her breast with the top of her head pointing right...
Other than that, the coin is normal, with a few marks from circulation, but no appearant scratch or abuse. Quite a nice find...
I can send you the photo through e-mail if you find a way to upload it...

Take a screen shot of your photos and upload the screenshots. File sizes much smaller that way.

We will gladly help you, but we will need images first. We are locking this topic to prevent posts with "We need images". You will get many more quality responses when there are quality images in the first post of a topic. Please start a new topic when you are able to upload pictures. If needed you can use the testing forum. Tutorials are below.

Note: When you start a new topic this one may be removed. So don't panic if you get an email that your topic was removed it's only this one.

PC: We highly recommend IrfanView. (Download) (Irfanview Tutorial)

Apple Computers: Tutorial here: https://goccf.com/t/466343

Cell Phones (iPhone or Android): First, do not upload cell phone pictures of screens. They are terrible. Please check your camera settings are set to Medium quality. If it uses compression use 70%, it's perfectly fine for the internet. For file type please use WEBP if your phone has it, otherwise JPG. Avoid PNG and GIF, they are horrible choices. Be sure to crop the image to only show the coin. This is a great setup for cell phones.
