Hi there. I've received some of these Indian Head pennies with some Wheat Pennies in a tin jar. All of the IndianHead Cents have this like two tone color to them where abit of the coin is one shade and the other is a different shade. Please see picture. Is this normal occurance for these coins or did something happen to them. Thank you for your help.

It appears this cent was stored in a way that allowed one half to be exposed to toning and the other to be somewhat protected from it.

Guessing the reverse may have been cleaned. Pretty much a cull in any event. Worth less than a dollar.

to CCF Might want to use the search box and check out "acetone bath", only safe was to clean coins without devaluing them. Start off by using common (high mintage) date coins.

I agree with jbuck's comment.

All the coins look cleaned at one point. The double tone looking might be where someone dipped half the coin in eZest coin cleaner, and it has retoned since then. John1

Quote: What if there was a bunch :( lol. Either different tones or some kind of foreign material on all these. So sad.

Sorry my friend, just a cull worth very little to a collector.

The 1880 cent looks to have been submerged, obverse side up.
