The last of my nickel pickups. It's a bit worn but still shows the doubling at "five cents".

Great cherry pick! =)

You can still see the separation line on the V, and even with the wear, those corner notches are super chunky. Well done.

Thanks. This is my first major doubled die. From what I was able to find, its worth about twice what I got it for.

Nice Find. The letters on the words FIVE CENTS solidify this is the major DDR.

So I've come across another one of these in about the same condition that I'll be watching. But there are 2 other nickels, maybe a touch better condition that are in the auction. They are 1936 FS-501 and 1938 FS-512. I have no clue on the value of these. Any estimates would be helpful.

Not sure if you mean 1936 5c FS-801 or 1936-S/S FS-501. Based on auction results, the 1936 Philly DDR looks to be worth about $200 in XF45 in a graded, attributed slab. The 1936-S/S is less than $100 in heavily circulated condition, based on auction results for graded, attributed slabs, so you would never make back the fees on that coin.

The 1938-D/S in circulated condition is way less than $100 based on auction results, so again, no path to making the money back on that one. Although maybe the D/S is attributed without a variety attribution fee?

These coins are raw so carry a much lower price tag and in fine condition at best. From what I saw is there is very little value until XF or better.

I don't know that is necessarily the case. I have seen several different types of doubled dies and rpm selling raw for a major portion of the graded coins. That suggests to me that some folks place no premium on formal grading for certain variety coins, to the point where the grading fees are a large net negative on the market value.

@Brand: Right now they are sitting at about $10 each but auction has 2.5 hours to go and bids tend to go way up in the last 5 min. My priority is a Half Cent but it is already close to the max I'm willing to pay.

Curious how the auction results ended up.
Were you able to pick them up?
