@out, first welcome to CCF. Second, based on that round flat region on the reverse and corresponding diffuse flat area on the obverse, this looks like mechanical damage to me rather than a mint error. I suspect that someone hit the coin with a circular flat punch in that region.

If memory serves, somewhere on Error Ref, they discuss the visual differences between devices that have been crushed by mechanical force vs. ones that suffered a strike through event. It might be one of the linked reference articles from the site. I will see if I can dig it up.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty new at this but totally consumed lol. I really love the chase it's like a treasure hunt everyday, so pretty much all my coins are circulated. I do have a few more could be's. I will look into the referenced materials as well.

Thank you Coinfrog - this nonsense of being a rare coin error has got to stop. Stop making uninformed coin collectors hopeful of a 1 of 1 Million coin - and just start being practical!

Ya you're right, this whole coin collecting thing is just nonsense, and everyone taking time to post photos, ask questions, answer questions, hunt through coin rolls, and participate in this forum (except you obviously) are just uninformed morons. It's not important that nothing was ever dscoverd until it was. So if you don't have the money to buy already discovered graded coins then you don't belong here. This shouldn't be fun it should be for investment purposes only. So to all the youth that may read this don't dream, hope, take risks, or believe because that's absolute nonsense. Keep your head down, get a job, and get your 1% return on your savings account. To all of you that informed me about PMD thank you for helping me in my new hobby. To marve who obviously had a very rigid childhood please keep your wet blanket negativity away from me.

Outlawking702, as you can see, we have a few grumpy old men here. Do not let them discourage you. We all started from scratch and had to learn. Keep coming back and asking questions. There will always be people here who will offer their help.
