I've wanted a 1915 Pan-Pacific $50 gold commemorative coin, but it's a tad pricey for me, so to that end I suggest the mint issue 110th anniversary coins (hey if they can attach special significance to the 230th anniversary of the flowing hair dollar they can do this for me). I would especially like the octagonal example, but they should mint the round one as well. They could sell each one for $5050.50 to draw attention to the denomination. A set of each example for only $10k. This assumes the price of gold remains at present levels. Should it go up, issue price will increase---exponentially. In addition, appropriately priced gold piedforts would also be issued!

Good luck... the idea sounds like it would be as successful as the original gold coins. If it didn't work once I don't think they would be keen on trying it again. Especially for how volatile and exponential the gold increase has been lately.

There are very well executed gold pan pacs done by talented individuals already existing. See if you can find some of those!

The current state of the Mint can't match the same artistic quality of the original set, I can't consider buying these today. I would change my perspective if the Mint can match it.

Well, gold anything is off the table for me, so no opinion.
