These coins were in the boxes that my grandfather gave me and they were in a medicine bottle labeled Australia but I am not positive that its what all of them are so if some arent Australian I appologize in advance I also am not sure they are pre-decimal so if they arent please move this post to the appropriate section. What I want to know is if there are anything I need to be aware of/look for with these coins

A fair number of these are British. I am haveing a bit of trpouble seeing dates and condition but from what I can see you probably would not get much more than a copper price if sold to a dealer.

wasnt really interested in selling because they were handed down from my Grandfather I was just wondering if there were anything I should look for or anything exciting about any of them. Thanks for the reply and sorry about the british coins as I said they were in a bottle marked "Australia" so I just guessed they were from there. If there are any dates that you would like to see tell me which coin and I will take a picture of it with the digital camera instread of the scanner

Thats a nice bunch to go through.
Most of your coins are from Great Britian.
In fact all the coins dated before 1910 are not considered Australian coins. Also the farthings are British as Australia didn't make farthings.

First two photos...All British coins.
Next two photos...All British coins.
Last two photos... One Australian penny, british coins and 2 Italian coins.

All Australian coins (except the gold sovereigns) have the word "Australia" on them somewhere - though on the old silver coins it can be hard to read on the tiny scroll beneath the coat of arms.

A lot of old folks around here swear black and blue that we used to have farthings. We didn't, but there may be a reason for this belief: some businesses bulk-imported quantities of farthings from the UK. They'd then have "19 shillings, 11 and three-quarters pence sales". You'd pay one pound (twenty shillings) for something and they'd give you a farthing as your "change".

The Italian coins are the second-last and third-last of the bottom set; the ones with the denomination "10 centesimi".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
