My Post at 12-01-2024 evening time 9:41 PM ( to make it simple ) Should read 10 packs of $1.00 Bills opened with 15 Notes missing in each Pack of 100 Note's ( times 10 ) is Short of $150.00 in this Brick of $1,000. to make it simple . +++ Post Prior at 12-01-2021 morning time 11:14 AM thought they were $2.00 Bill's with the Straps were indicating $200.00 but the pack straps are instead of $100.00. Still Confusing ? We are Talking Original Bills only at $1.00 each.

Did you actually count the notes and come up short?
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

BTW --- Pretty much any jewelry store, pawn shop or "we buy gold" place will have a scale that can weigh your unopened shrink wrapped brick of ten packs of notes in grams.
Also, you can buy a digital scale on-line that will fit your needs for less than 20$ and you can weigh them yourself.
Did the bank ever respond to your quiry?
I hope this mess eventually gets straightened out.

The Bank hasn't responded, they say allow 10 days** Past Due Now ** Freedom of Information Act inquiry** Bureau of Printing and Engraving, I don't expect to hear from them until 2025,when a New Treasurer and Secretary of the Treasury is nominated. I counted and made a note of the missing 150 *** $1.00 Notes from the $1,000.00 Brick . Haven't Opened the 2nd Brick in case the Federal Reserve want's to verify it's weight. I need to look in a Bigger Scale but I need it to measure in 4 digits ( thousand ) Just ordered Whitman Publisher The Official Guide Mega Red Book number 9 ,so now I will have a complete set. I do not know if it's true but Whitman may have been sold and the new Company might issue a Red Book . Quarterly , ( Updated 4 times a year ) Anyone with any information Happy Holiday's / goldnugget

Quote: Haven't Opened the 2nd Brick in case the Federal Reserve want's to verify it's weight. The onus is on YOU to know the answer to what it weighs BEFORE you even take it back to the bank for verification. If given the opportunity the bank will crack it open and run each pack thru the counter. They really don't care about what it weighs. If it's missing150 notes it'll weight about 850 grams and be about 5/8 of an inch shorter in thickness than a full brick of 1000 NEW notes. It is a huge difference. This is not rocket science.

When weighing the unopened brick we must consider the weight of the outer plastic wrap and the paper straps, if any. Let's hope the OP still has the packaging material from one of the previous bricks to weigh.
