Oh, how I love him. First, he's selling 'coins from his grandfather', then goes on to say:

"I am no expert and make no claims or guarantees of any kind as to the grade, look at the supersize pics for yourself and you be the judge. I fully guarantee that the coin is genuine and completely back 100% its authenticity. You are bidding on the exact coin you see in the photographs, please grade it yourself and bid accordingly as I make no guarantees as to the grading since it was done so long ago, I do not guarantee this coin will grade any certain grade with a grading company nor do I guarantee if a coin has or has not been cleaned as I am not an expert, so look at the photos and you can decide. No returns will be allowed for any reason other than authenticity."

In other words, "I am selling cleaned junk photographed at an angle and know it, and covering my .....butt."

And then:

"A rare find indeed! Excellent and worth a premium bid, this should bring a strong price! An absolute, No Reserve, unreserved NR auction, this coin will sell to the highest bidder for whatever price it brings - so don't miss out. Watch this jewel lot go with a super low starting price of only $.99! "

LOL, some sellers amuse me

2 people disappointed. The guy has large pictures of the coin that show more detail then most. His story is balcony as are most on ebay. Besides the sugarcoating he's runnin a decent auction starting at .99 cents.

I commend this guy for having all of the hoopla in his listing, and then actually posting VERY nice pictures of the coins he's selling. There are a lot of mid-high end coins on this site, and every one of them has very nice pictures. My guess is that we are not seeing the failed transactions of some bad buyers, which maybe forced him to list all of the extras in his listing. All we see is the result of being burned, so he learned, he started taking very nice detailed photos, and he stated clearly what each sale will entail.

I'm not condoning some of the "extras" he's throwing into his verbiage, but you certainly can't argue with the photos until you receive a coin that has been photoshopped or something.....

It's odd because he says he garuntees the goins are authentic right after he says he will not garuntee anything....

tights, I personally thought he was using lighting tricks to mask subtle defects like light cleaning and enhance the look of the coin. I mean, I saw mention of that in some of the feedback, the photos look a little suspicious to me....saw similar kinds of photos in the auctions where one guy was whacking problem coins out and trying to sell them as original hoping people would miss them....

Shadow, that much I would believe, which is why I included the last sentence. if you're curious on the sellers photos, save one of the really nice photos of a cheap coin to your desktop, and then purchase the coin. You can then compare your purchase and photos to the sellers. I used to do this myself, I'm just not in the market for anything right now. it is a great way to gauge seller honesty for small money. Of course, if something doesn't seem right to you, the decision is easy, don't buy from them. This is a great topic for the YN to see, thank you for starting it. Bottom line, you can never be too cautious when buying coins online.
