If you are thinking of returning it, I'd like a chance at her. Maybe we can work out a trade if you are interested.

When the NGC & PCGS combined census has a single 62 and less than 20 circulated - it is a conversation about availability more than eye appeal. I could care less how visually appealing it is - they don't come around often.

Revised: There is zero chance it would straight grade.

I thought the question was about the condition of the coin, not availability.

That is correct, I asked about straight vs details and potential grade. With consensus being no way on straight I'll most likely return it and wait on...most likely for a long while...a raw candidate that has a chance at a straight grade.
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.

I agree with the others, not seeing a straight grade.

I'm not an expert on these and they are one the more challenging series to grade. the grade on these is sometimes based on the TPG grader who handles it. if they are well versed in the series they would know the rev is a weaker strike and even the obv in the clasp area. I look at the high devices especially the lettering and stars

i would grade the coin mid-VF 25 or even 30 imo. how would a TPG see it is the question.

as for cleaning. I've seen similar looking ones that graded straight and some details. you have to ask yourself is it worth the $$ to find out. if it came back straight you have a winner. even at details the price you paid I think is pretty good. if it was mine i'd take the chance.

if you take a shot. repost it. i'd love to see what they say
