Hi guys, I'm new here. Always interesing reading about our Aussie coins. I've just started collecting mintmark coins, well apart from my childhood collection of predecimal coins. I also like silver and gold coins although I don't actually own any gold ones yet! Sovereigns fascinate me but it will be a while before I can afford one.

Have been reading Rennicks "Australian Coin & Banknote Values" for information too. Lots of useful info and price guide there.

I'm glad I picked up a few "M" mintmark Commonwealth games dollars before they increase in price. Also a few TV "C" mintmark coins. Keeping an eye out for the special "TV" mintmark later in the year. Anyone know why it's special?

Unfortunately missed the Queen's 50c birthday but picked up 5 PNC's with the Royal visit coin so it's not all bad.

Tips on the next coin to skyrocket in price greatly appreciated, hehheh.

Welcome to the CCF Learjet.....

It is good to see another Aussie coming on board. My crystal ball is a bit hazy to make any predictions. [:p]

Thanks lim118. If the crystal ball was clear we'd all be rich Lol. I suppose that's half the fun of it, trying to predict a successful coin. Maybe there's a bit of chance involved too.

Not that I'm in it just for the money, so to speak. I like a good looking coin for aesthetic and other reasons too.

It's a wonderful time to get into coin collecting with such variety from the mints these days like never before. And ebay too adds another element of surprise in coin values. I just want to collect them all! Well haven't got enough money for that, but do have a plan to follow. I'll try and get a few coins of every mint mark and maybe a few more of suspected ones that will appreciate. And I want all the silver kangaroos. I just like the look of those big silver dollars. And a gold coin or two. Oh and I want at least one nice ancient Roman or Greek coin. The thought of having a 2000 year old coin that passed through goodness knows who's hands fascinates me.

Mmm, doesn't look like I'm going to have much money in the bank account for a while... but at least it's better than Lotto, I think.
