I recently received a COMPLETE lincoln set. When I say complete, I mean COMPLETE. the only thing missing is the 1922 NO D. The lowest graded coin in the bunch is the 1909 S VDB which is a PCGS AU55. Everything else is graded higher. My question is, I was trying to find a value for the set and can not find ANYTHING online for a complete set. Does anyone know what this set would go for on the coin market. Thanks.

If 1922 no D is not included in the set then it is not COMPLETE I don't think it would be easy to find a complete lincoln set all in PCGS. Where did you receive this from?

yes you are correct, it is not complete but one coin out of over 300 is pretty complete in my book cause it has all others, 1955 DD, 22 weak D, double ear, etc etc. I received it as a college graduation present from a VERY old man whom has been my neighbor since I was 4.

Wow, that is quite a gift. All the coins are slabbed (graded)? There is too much potential variation in coin values on a coin-by-coin basis that hinges on the grade of each coin...so it would be impossible for someone to grab a market value out of the air. Potential resources to help you value the set are: Bluebook Handbook of US coins (wholesale prices) Greysheet (greysheet.com) another wholesale price guide, generally shows higher than Bluebook. The monthly edition will not show values after 1933D (except for a couple doubled dies). RedBook Retail price guide. You probably would not be able to sell the coins for these prices. PCGS has values of various grades on their website, but the values are way too high in my opinion. ebay past sales history. This is just the tip of the iceberg. :)

Not sure how to value it, but very nice and to the Community! Some will argue that the 1922 "No D" is unnecessary for a complete set. I might be one of those people. In the end, a complete set is whatever you want it to be! I will probably use a 1922 "Weak D" to fill the '1922-D Plain' hole in my Dansco album.

all the wheats are slabbed and the errors and varieties. the rest up to 2008 are not slabbed but look as if they were just minted this morning. I mean, I'm not a grader by any means but I know MS when I see it just like yall do so its obvious they are in great condition. I mean, dont get me wrong, I will cherish it but I kinda wanted to insure it cause I figure it is up in the thousands.

CoinNut, I am still dreaming about your set. What are some of the grades on other keys like, 1909S, 1910S, 1911S, 1914D, 24D, 31S et al.

I have a VERY old man as a neighbor too.......but sadly, the only thing he'd give me would be "advice" like " Don't eat yellow snow" !......

If the set is in excellent condition, I am sure it would at least be in the five figures, value wise. But you would need to get an appraisal for insurance purposes. You will also need good, quality pictures of each coin. Congrats on a very nice gift!

WOW! What a gift! What's even more special is all the Wheats are slabbed. What grading company? All the same? You could use the PCGS price guide. You should setup an Excel sheet so you have a nice record of each coin, grade and value. http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGui...Lincoln+Cent to CC!
