1942 S Jefferson Nickel - Is It PMD Or Doubled Die Obverse / DDO ?

Sannys25 Valued Member United States 145 Posts	Posted 12/07/2024 12:32 pm I came across this Jefferson, nickel in my collection, it's graded by a offbrand, third-party grader (NNC). So, the pictures are a little tough since it's slabbed. The main thing that is catching my eye is the 2 In the date. When you cross reference variety vista, it could be DDO-002 but I am not sure (it could be an early die because the mint mark does not look like (a RPM). Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6464 Posts	Posted 12/07/2024 1:37 pm That line on the bar of the 2 is a common feature on that era of War Nickels. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin.../images/4017 The DDO-001 appears to be defined by the separation lines and splits on the 4 and star.
