I came across this Jefferson, nickel in my collection, it's graded by a offbrand, third-party grader (NNC). So, the pictures are a little tough since it's slabbed.

The main thing that is catching my eye is the 2 In the date. When you cross reference variety vista, it could be DDO-002 but I am not sure (it could be an early die because the mint mark does not look like (a RPM).

Thoughts?

That line on the bar of the 2 is a common feature on that era of War Nickels.

The DDO-001 appears to be defined by the separation lines and splits on the 4 and star. Not sure that I see that here.

Ah yes with further research the "2" had me fooled. Is the DDO indicator on the star, the split serif? tough to see it.

Here is the DDO-002 entry.

Honestly, when it gets down to these "very light spread" doubled dies, most of the time I can't even see the details on the pictures.

Thanks for that page Brand. "I Second That"! Very difficult to see. I do believe the indicators are at 1) lower serif in "Y" 2) the star split serif. I can't see anything on the Date.
