@EV. Thanks for pointing out that it could be like a Die Attrition.
At first I thought it might be but it doesn't have the same look.
To me the rim and letters aren't affected like what's described on Error-Ref.

Actually I don't care what it's called or if it's an error or not.
I'm just curious how and when it happened.
On the 1968 cents for the most the letters of IGWT are right up close or blended into the rim.
Maybe I'm wrong about that.

. I'm not sure how to explain the gap between the rim and the field.
If it is a gap say from about N over to W, it might've been somewhat straight across and how did it happen?
(IF) it was straight across, how did the letters GOD change it?
Hope the second set of pictures will help explain what I'm getting at.
