I/m contemplating my first metal detector purchase.I'm a beginner. So far I have read about a couple of different manufactures(garrett,Bounty hunter).I'm primarily interested in coin, jewelry detecting.I anticipate spending apprx. $90-200.Is there an advantage to having Automatic Ground Tracking as stated by Bounty Hunter?.Also what features do you feel are a "must have" for the price range I'm looking at?.Are there other manufactures I should consider in this price range?.Thanks for all responses.

Although I haven't used it myself, I've been reading rave reviews about the Garrett Ace 250, a great turn-on-and-go machine with auto track balancing and a few preset programs and some adjustments you can make to your liking. I believe it's running about $250 new, might be able to get a better price on ebay.
