2001 P NY Quarter: Copper Wedge On Reverse (Repost Of An Old Thread)

Seeker_101 Pillar of the Community United States 1791 Posts	Posted 12/26/2024 6:53 pm I am reposting this quarter from earlier this year because I never did find an answer to this - mainly because of poor photos. I've since got better equipment and better in photographing (most times). Anyway there is a copper wedge showing from the rim inward. Testing with a toothpick, the copper part appears to be raised (toothpick snags going from field to copper wedge). So what would this be? Sorry if there are more photos than there needs to be.
