Came across this 1964 and it didn't feel right so weighing it I get 2.2g and a ton of questions. Expert advice is much welcome!

It's been heavily damaged by environmental factors, such as acid or heat. PMD. I'm thinking acid, since the weight is only 2.2 grams.

It's not as thick as a normal penny.

Looking at it more I can say I'm 100% sure it's half the thickness of a regular penny, it's like a thin piece of cardboard.

you answered your own question...PMD most likely due to acid and road rash.

It is logical for a coin in this condition to loose some of it's weight.

Road kill , acid dipped .
Think about it .how could a coin
leave the Mint like this ?
No offence to the OP but if the average
starter in coins would spend two hours
reading a book like the Red Book instead
of twenty hours coin roll hunting they would
advance their Numismatic knowledge 100 fold !
Also stay away from the YouTube fantasy videos
involving coins .
Knowledge is woeful in our great hobby !!

@Pacificoin,
I think your critisism is a bit too harsh and indeed offensive.

to CCF.
that the coin has sustained some damage from circulation and possible acid exposure, reducing the thickness and weight of the cent.

Not offensive at all!
Numismatic education levels need
massive improvement
is the point I was attempting to make.
It was NOT directed at the OP in any way .

This is also true, but Pacificoin's post did not read as spiteful or rude to me. It offered additional suggestions, not demands. It may have lacked some sugar, but it was not sour.
