I propose to open a new topic, which will discuss medals for which there are certain discrepancies in authorship, as well as medals without author's signatures, and information about the author is not very common. For example, "1910" Major General George Meade - Gettysburg Memorial Medal. Joseph K. Davison's Sons (manufacturer). Usually, the medal is displayed or sold without attribution. Even Stack's Bowers does not list the author. But if you go to the memorial's website, you can find the following booklet. And we learn that it is Jules-Edouard Roine.

Or J. Walter Thompson Centennial Medallion (1964). I've never seen the author indicated. But thank heavens MACo published its archives (let even with errors). And now we know that the author is Arthur Hershel Lidov (1917 - 1990).

Another example. Gridiron Club Dinner Medal (1919). Some researchers report that the medal was not engraved by Sinnock, but by Hans Schuler. See website American Numismatic Association. https://www.money.org/money-museum/...-remembered/ This idea is most likely suggested by a very similar author's signature. But if look closely at the monogram, will see that these are not the letters H and S, but the letters J, R and S. Cf.: The problem is in Sinnok's early signatures. He used his initials at the very beginning (2-3 medals), then he signed his medals with his full surname. In addition, there is an article in The Numismatist (vol. 98, August 1985) about the works of father and son Schuler. This medal does not appear on Hans Schuler's list of medals.

There are currently 9 medals for sale on ebay from 9 sellers - Northwestern National Life Insurance Company Board of Directors Medal (1937). The author is not indicated anywhere. But if look closely at the reverse, can see the initials - W.T.M. Warren T. Mosman (1908-1968). I'm sure that this should be indicated in the description of the medal.

I was once very happy, when I found information about the author in The Auction Eighty Six catalog (Presidential Coin and Antique Company, p. 154, N 1128). But it turns out that in the accessible part of Johnson's databank, such paperweight is not listed for F. Eue. Sadly. Where is the exact information?

And if compare it with this reverse? Is there a similarity?

Nice examples of what exactly, can you elaborate a bit? Or is it just a motivational formula?

I cannot answer your questions regrading the author, but I can take time to admit that theses medals are nice and pleasing to my eye. In other words, I find them interesting and hope someone will come provide you with an answer to your questions after my reply bring the topic back to the top of the list.

Don't keep your remarks to yourself, dear collectors... This is a reverse of British-American Cup Crew Medal (1922). Modeled by Anthony de Francisci. Whitehead & Hoag. Do you think this gives grounds to assume that Dolphin Jute Mills 85th Anniversary Medal also made Anthony de Francisci? Or in W&H Co. like as in MACo, such a concept was used as "Stock Design - rev"?

Let's continue with examples of medals from A. de Francisci... I take the MACo archives and the databank from Johnson. Please note - the year of issue is the same, the accounting archival records are practically next to each other. Two author. The obverse and reverse are identical.
