First off I'm glad I found this site. Been looking for one for a few weeks now! I started collecting in 1971 when my grandfather gave me a 1971 Ike. Like most kids I collected everything I could get my hands on. Put them in flips, did that for years. While in the Navy my parents cleaned out my room and sold the "collection" (lol) and sent me the cash. Left the Navy, got married and about 2001 discovered coin collecting again thanks to a coworked who was an avid collector. Learned a ton from him. That coin collecting in more than collecting coins, completing a set. It's history you can hold in your hand. Like a whole new world to me. Well in 2010 my ex-wife wanted to take a trip, she sold my coins to pay for it, which is why she's and ex!.
Here we are in 2025, a few weeks ago I found a few Ike's that survived the sales and were buried in a box titled "Childhood". That lite a fire that had been dormant for a long time.
This time I'm older, wiser and have a renewed interest in coins and all collecting has to offer.
Looking forward to learning and getting to know folks who understand what an addiction coins are!
