Then you'll know when something is good enough to send in to be graded. Sending a coin out to be graded is costly. (Many times a costly mistake) You need to know what the coin is going to grade (potential value) and factor in all the costs associated with grading (fees and postage and insurance) to determine if it's worth sending a particular coin to be graded. Here is the PCGS price guide https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1939-25c/5808 . Most here would agree it would need to be in at least MS66+ condition for it to be slabbed.
