I didn't realize any 1960 P Small over Large date business strike DDO's existed. I thought these were only Proof DDO's.
And less than 3000 according to Wexler. https://doubleddie.com/305001.html

Found this one tonight the 1st roll of a new box.

It's just chipping on the date, very common on the 1960 coins. Notice the similar look on my Denver coin. I was taught this several years ago, not a small over large.

-Makecents-. Yup, it sure does look like chipping. There's more on the R,U,S and T. Also, on the neck, chin and lips.

Thanks for the great feedback!

I still remember the first time I found one of these, thought I'd found a white whale for sure.

Looks like -makecents-, my recent 1960 small date and other finds validate the US Mint "chipping" explanation for having both a small date and large date die for 1960 LMC. A some additional research into led to this very interesting read on error-ref.com about skepticism regarding the US Mint's explanation.

Yes, I've read that a few times. The small and large date 60's series was an absolute mess. The fact that they started with the 59 master die and doctored it up was not a good start. Did you dig into the clashing it spoke of? I have posted the link on here a couple of times for others. Keep your eyes open on the 60D small date for this, there are a lot of them.
