CAC - The Royal Canadian Mint struck two types of specimen coinage in 1937: Mirrored and Matte. The mirrored-finish specimen strikes are struck twice and are, essentially, proofs. The matte proof issues (pictured here) were single-strike and, technically, fit the definition of "specimen." The matte sets were struck to celebrate the new monarch. Mirror sets were issued in a leather box, while matte sets came in a cardboard box. This piece is graded CAC SP67 Matte.
