A little after we closed Friday night, my office clerk called me and said I got a 2$ bill that's different from the rest of them. I liked hearing that and went back to the cash room and this was on the counter: Someone bought a lotto ticket with it, and I picked it up for face. I know it's only worth 2$ but I thought it was cool. I love picking up old currency and coins for face. There's been a tremendous amount of world coins show up as people cash in the old coin jars too.
That is a very sweet bill. I went into the bank today and asked for the usual 2009-cents, rolls of halves, etc, all no, but I was told I have these $2-dollar bills and one is old, the same bill as you have posted above, except it is dated 1953, very happy , the other dated 1976, the red seal is very nice and the reverse is a work of art, just like the one above, and all for $4.00.......
i got a call from a girl that works at one of the banks I go to to buy dollars to search and she told me she has 4 red seal 2,s and a silver certificate. cant wait to go pick them up. and my mom found a silver certificate for me yesterday too. later greg
I don't collect these but when I over paid for shipping on a ebay coin, the dealer paid me back with these. I thought it was a very cool thing to do! And so, I've kept them. (This might mean the start of another collection!!? You never know...)
